About Seasmoke PRChris Higgins, Director and Owner Chris launched Seasmoke in 1999 with the philosophy of providing travel public relations and Internet marketing for independent travel resorts and dive and tourism companies at affordable rates and with excellent service. Since then, Chris, a gregarious and passionate captain, has enthusiastically steered Seasmoke and its crew from a two-person rowboat of a business to a 15 person (30 foot?) yacht-sized company of public relations and travel internet marketing experts. With over 20 years of communications experience, including 16 years as Media Relations Coordinator at the Royal BC Museum, and a love for travel and the sea, Chris is happiest when he can match Seasmoke’s extensive travel public relations and Internet marketing skills with travel businesses who share the same values – caring for their customers and the environment, and going the extra mile to get the job done. When Chris isn’t conjuring up creative, unique and out-of-the-box campaigns, such as King Tut’s Tipple and the Ale Trail for Spinnaker’s, or Desperate Housewives Getaways for Tigh Na Mara Resort, he can be found taking Seasmoke’s crew on sailing excursions and fishing expeditions in the beautiful waters around Vancouver Island. Dan Haase, Director of Internet Marketing Since 2003, Dan has had his steady hand on Seasmoke’s travel internet marketing rudder, overseeing the development of striking and SEO friendly resort website designs for clients. With over ten years of web experience, he is responsible for managing all activity that involves Internet advertising, including resort website design and development of website enhancements. Dan keeps his talented techies on an even keel and on occasion can also be seen doing the same for Captain Chris. When he comes up for air from his computer screen, Dan enjoys biking, diving and touring on his motorbike. Jamie Gripich, Director of Public Relations and Strategy A big guy with a big heart, Jamie has been the wind beneath Seasmoke’s travel public relations sails since 2004. Jamie oversees the day to day development and execution of all media campaigns for Seasmoke. A transplanted prairie dog, Jamie has twenty years of experience in media, government communications, strategic planning and public relations. With his telescope vigilantly scanning the horizon, he ensures Seasmoke navigates smoothly through the travel and tourism industry’s ebb and flow. When he gets shore leave, Jamie loves a game of basketball.
